Best units for 2-way DIY speakers

Morel MW142 and MW144 (virtually the same) (fs52). Looks good in a 29
litre
sealed box! Very flat frequency response up to around 5K so looks like
easy to
cross over, even to a ribbon.
I have some experience of the Morel MW 142. It works well in the same
5-litre sealed cabinet as the B110 and is very easy to work with - a smooth
frequency response and no significant delayed resonances until quite late.
The large centre dome brings the driver's acoustic centre forward, which
also simplifies the crossover somewhat. I'd suggest crossing over at 3k.
It's quite expensive, but definitely sounds like a quality driver. It is
astonishingly good in a Daline or transmission line cabinet.
Some of the others - the Dynaudio and the Audax HM130CO, for example - have
frequency response anomalies in the passband that need special attention
(like the B110).
