So, other than recording this CD in real time to the computer's HD can
it really not be digitally ripped? Out of interest, anyone know of third
party software which will allow the disc to be digitally ripped to hard
disc?

Anyway, you might/should find Sound Forge's "Extract Audio from CD" function
will cream through it.......
