Out of interest, what the input impediances of the amps in question ?
That could well be making a difference. And maybe input capacitance,
depending on the circuit of the phono stage.

OK, **** nose what happened there - the bloody post sent itself off!!

I wuz about say the KiT88 has:

Sensitivity - 400 mV

from the spec (if that helps - no impedance figure) and I've no idea about
the SET. You would have to ask Mr Loftin (dead), Mr White (dead), Mr
Shoshido (dead) or Mr Ramsey (not dead yet, but losing it fast!) or give me
detailed instructions on how to measure it myself!

Otherwise I would say that (up 'til now) I tend not to bother with these
figures as I'm mixing and matching existing components rather than
'designing' new ones!! ;-)

I would repeat that the CDR vinyl rip of DSOTM sounded virtually identical
to the actual LP when I was switching between them on an external input
selector switch - which tells me (as the rip came from another rig entirely)
that I can't be too far off (or there's two of us here missing the mark in
an almost identical fashion)...???

(I have often said CDR is a good way to get a damn good vinyl copy!! :-)
