I did contact BS a while ago however they told me they would not deal
directly with me, and that I would have to go through a stockist, this was
Seven Oaks, who were very 'off' about such an old pair of speakers,
would/could not give me a price and were generally dismissive so I gave
up.

matter how much I like them I am not inclined to throw lots of money at
them, but I dont want to change them either! So to my question:

Can anyone reccomend a person who can inspect and repair the speakers?
or has anyone had experiance with such an issue? I live in North

No idea who the recommend, I'm afraid. However I am puzzled that
although you like the speakers you assume in advance that the cost will
be "prohibative" and "lots of money". I'd suspect that the problem with
units like these is that the repairer will have to have the necessary
skills and *specific* knowledge, and probably the *specific* parts.
Given this, and I wanted to keep using the speakers, I'd probably deal
with it via Meridian.

The speakers are part of a system that has given many years of good
service, I did invest in a 506 CD Player but the tone has never really
lived up to my Linn LP12 and vinyl (it is fair to say I do have a nice arm
and cartridge)

The reason I am reluctant to throw money at them is the speakers are
probably only worth GBP50 these days and new active speakers are
expensive, the other option is to bin my pre-amp and buy a new system,
however vinyl does not seem to sound so good on new systems, and 'if it
aint broke dont fix it!' this exludes the errant tweeter!

Now the good news is I have just wsapped the tweeters over and moved the
problem, so all I need is a pair of Audax HD 13 34's and the job is done.

Are such beasts available in this day and age?
