yes, but the Tannoys want to be about 0.5 - 1m from the walls, and this
is impossible -- the room is too small.


If you can leave the (existing) front speakers in a suitable place then why
not use some other type of speakers for the rear channels, designed to be
used shoved up against the walls. You can then disengage these when you
want to listen to music rather than the bangs, whooshes, and thuds of
films. :-)

FWIW I just use a decent stereo setup for both audio and DVD. The results
sound fine to me.
