Bit of both - mixed signal engineer. Dunno much about valves, though!

It might be difficult to find a job with either a console
manufacturer or a studio at *any* level, especially at your age:-)

Indeed, and it's always fascinating how many problems in 'digital'
audio equipment (including mixing desks) are of an analogue nature!
