Hi
I was wondering if there is anyone out there who could assist
with problems that I am having with Cool Edit 2000. There is no
support any more from Syntrillium and Adobe are not interesrted. I
can record alright but havent found a way of adjusting the record
level low enough to permit undistorted play in Winamp. I can do it
all OK with Gold Wave but would like to get to grips with Cool Edit.
Any help appreciated or if this is the wrong forum for this question,
I apologise.

You adjust the level of recorded files in CE using effects, amplitude,
amplify.

But that can only be done once the recording is in the sequencer. If
the recording is overmodulated, there is no benefit in reducing
the level after recording.
You cannot adjust the record input within CEP itself.
I have just checked this from the hardback beta-testers' manual.
