I currently have
Technics SLPG 490 CD player
Cambridge Audio A4 amp
Mordaunt Short MS20i Pearl speakers.
QED silver anniversay cables (Bi-wired)
Cambrige Audio Arctic interconnect
Toshiba wide screen TV - can't remember model - about 4 yrs old.
Aiwa HT-DV90 home cinema in a box system.
Music quality is important (up to now I've been largely happy with the
music
side of things although wouldn't mind a bit more Bass sometimes) but I
want,
primarily, to improve the home cinema.
I want to do away with the Aiwa system and upgrade the home cinema set up.
Was thinking of a secondhand Toshiba SD220 or similar DVD player to
replace
the Aiwa.
I think I'd be ok to keep the MS speakers for use for music and as the
fronts for the home cinema.
Whatever I get for the rears should be small and compact and sutable for
wall mounting.
I have £500 to spend on system upgrading and I'm not fussed whether I buy
new or secondhand.
Any suggestions??
dont go spending lots on cables. thats a start. the only benefit you will
get is thicker speaker cables. no loss or resistance.
Get a sub to add onto the system if you require more bass at times.
The only thing stopping you from getting more bass is the amp.
Not thats its a bad amp. just MIGHT not be powerful enough.
It all depends on teh levels YOU want.
