Default DAT recorders?

You do not say what kind of a concert this is.
If it's a band with a PA system, you would be
wiser to take a direct feed from the mixer.

Its for the U2 concerts - next week at Twickenham (sat and sun)

Much depends upon the type of concert,

It does say no recorders on the tickets so it would have to be discreet

Be very careful indeed if you mean to make copies for sale.
You must do everything according to the copyright and performance
laws. if any of the performers is signed to a record label, you must
get written permission to use their performance. If you get on the
wrong side of the BPI, your feet won't touch the ground.

Keep us informed.

I dont think Bono is willing to meet small fish like me for that sort of
thing!
There are plenty of recordings from earlier shows of U2 concerts (this year
and past)
U2 are not against bootlegs as long as they are not sold.
This one will be for my own personal use but no doubt better ones will be
released on the net (plus Radio 2 will be broadcastng an edited version).

Why ever not use that then?, they will have access to many more
facilities than you have...

Almost all the other recordings from this tour hav been done by DAT.... I
might use a Mini disc player that I already have. It comes with a mic but
are there any decent cheap ones I can buy?

Also mine is not one of the later ones which connects to the PC so I am not
evensure if my soundcard has the inputs to recieve the sounds from the MD!
