A $30 sony will blow the bose away. In fact, just about any thing else

sound better unless you're idea of good sound is having an incredible
resonance
at 110hz and having every single bass note played at that frequency.

I think she's decided to go for the Bose. Sounds like her mind was made up
before, and just wanted people to agree with her. However the geeks talking
about techie stuff probably made her run a mile.

Regardless a good quality micro system (that Teac) will outshine everything
about the Bose. Unless you like cheap build quality, and want to pay more
just because of the "Bose" badge.

Absolutely. For $1500, bose will perform at about the level of a $150 receiver
tied to 5 $30 speakers and a $50 subwoofer. Not a great deal unless you're
looking for that special feelin of pride that comes from having spent too much.
