Default BBC Proms Radio 3 - relentless stutter

I am getting something that is slightly more resembling reception at
midnight here - same as 6 am in London (still nothing to compare with a
week ago, or nearly so). Could this have to do with the time I am
tuning in, indicating that nothing has been fixed at all, or is there
actually some repair underway? In five days from now, it will be too
late for the broadcast I most want to hear from the Proms, and I am
very damn nervous about it. Just what could be going on on the other
end? I can not afford at the moment the other technologies available
to others here.

The reception that should have been good for a pretty good hot dog from
Venezuela should be at least equally good for Ingo Metzmacher - it
being too early to really cast aspersions on Dudamel, but in the
company of someone with as thorough intellect and musicality as
Metzmacher, much else pales.

I have been listening to a number of the Proms broadcasts from Radio 3,
through dialup/Real Player, etc. and/or BBC Radio Player.
Results of all of what I describe below seems to have been about the
same through both media.

Buy a new radio. DAB isn't bad.

DAB even on Radio 3 is very poor;(...

Compression is the biggest problem with
broadcasts these days

Been that way a long time, as its what the "market" wants;!"....

I believe that the original poster didn't live in the UK.....
