Handheld circular saw - just to take the (not inconsiderable) weight of the
offcut out of the equation.

....was a little test cut to *prove* the handsaw would not chip the surface
laminate.
These worktops (3050mm long and 40mm thick) weigh a *ton* - hence one cut
being done outdoors and one indoors to reduce potentially disastrous
manoeuvering!!
