Piano Trio No4 in E minor, Opus 90, is also known as the Dumky.

Which has nothing whatsoever to do with the Czech words
"nemy" or "pitomy". Languages not your forte, Stewart.?

It's a *pun*, you boneheaded cretin! SAD getting you down already?

Pretty poor pun:-(

I guess you don't have the knowledge to discuss
classical trio form then?

Not in an *audio* newsgroup, certainly.

I notice you deleted the sentence where I wrote that this group
is not the place to do it.

There are dozens of music
newsgroups in which such matters can be discussed to your heart's
content.

yes. I contribute to several.

They bear no relation whatever to the quality of reproduced
sound in the home, which is my interest.

Perhaps your knowledge of music extends to what
Google can find you in the first ten hits:-)

One of your friends on RAT just e.mailed, and said:
"
Don't bother to try to talk about music with Oinkie,
he thinks that all music sounds the same, and even with
DBT cannot differentiate between The Beatles and Bartok"

You certainly have made a good impression, Stewart:-)

I am however curious about one thing. We know that Finland has one of
the highest suicide rates in the world, but I wonder if this was true
*before* you moved there........................ :-)

Or before the Finns began to read your posts on RAT ...................:-)

My wife is a sociologist so this suicide rate something we talk
about often. If you do a little more research you will find the
explanation to the problem.

a. the Finns have a Slavic mentality (they live in the key of
Gb minor - does that mean anything to you?)

b. Although the do not drink any more alcohol than the Germans
or the British, they drink it all at once, often with unfortunate
consequences.

On the positive side, you will find that:

1. Finland has the highest standard of education.

2. Finland also has the highest standard of health care in the EU

3. Finland has the highest standard of social care (no homeless
people living in boxes in shop doorways as in the UK)

4. Finland is also the most industrially competitive nation in the EU.
(shipbuilding, electronics, paper and timber industries)

5. Finland (with Sweden) has the cleanest environment in the EU and
the lowest levels of pollution.

6. Finland covers an area 30%larger than the UK, with only 9% of
the population of the UK, and only 5% of the traffic. There are
100 000 lakes, and many million trees per head of the population.
That's a lot of clean air:-)

7. Compared with the UK, housing is about 50% cheaper, and of
a much higher standard.

8. There are no fabulously rich people as in the UK, but there are no
illiterates or paupers either. Most here are fluent in three languages.
I read that many children in the UK struggle to write their own name.

Unlike the UK, the residents of both Finland and Sweden are happy
with their standard of living, their governments and policies.

Can't be too bad, can it?

Cordially,

Iain
