I've never really liked switching headphone jacks on decent amps.

The
contacts are exposed and don't wipe, so they eventually go pretty
noisy and can even lose contact altogether. Far better to put a nice
heavy duty switch in the speaker lead near the amp.


Yeah, for a while I used a QED 'Headphone Controller' between the jack
and the phones. Basically just a big switch :-)
