OK, as Pinky said some time back it takes a while, but the savings
*are* signficant - this kitchen (not large) is coming in at about 3K
inc appliances. The quotes we got were 8.5 - 11K and all of them
would have crept up - the lower one started to, so I that's when I
put the block on it all!!

Last year a mate got a complete kitchen from MFI - washing machine,
dishwasher, gas hob, double oven, extractor, upright fridge freezer -
all built in types - and base units and wall cupboards for three
walls of a kitchen about 4 x 4 metres - big enough for a family of
four to eat in.

For 2000 quid. I did the plumbing, electrics and tiling. Should have
charged the same for that. ;-)

We did similar, room is 15x12 and we did three walls. Cost of units after
sale discount and staff discount was about 600 quid.... worktops from a
local surplus kitchens place for 90 quid. Sink and taps from Wickes.

Hired a kitchen fitter for 5 days to do the whole lot including plumbing and
electrics - only hit us for 120/day (handy friend...)
