Default Warfedale speaker repair ?

On Sat, 11 Feb 2006 15:11:00 +0000, Jo burbled:

I have a pair of Warfedale speakers that have worked great for 30+ years.
I love 'em !

However, one of the woofers has developed cracks/holes in the rubber
surround. I can see that there are plenty of (none uk) companies offering
generic repair kits but nothing that seems to exactly fit these units.
Also, most of them are offering foam surrounds, not rubber. The cones are
247 mm dia and the frames are 302 mm. I don't know the model number of
these units. They were being sold as kits by Warfedale around 1975. Each
kit contained 3 drivers (woofer, mid-range, tweeter) as well as crossover
units and plans for the enclosures.

Questions:

Any UK companies offering repair kits ? Pros and cons of replacing the
rubber surrounds with foam surrounds ?

Any ideas/suggestions appreciated.

I've been looking for replacement foam surrounds for a couple of pretty
old 10" Peerless drivers. Not much in the uk is there? I considered
getting some from the states, but of course no-one specifies that a
particular size is suitable for Peerless drivers - I've no idea how
generic they are.
