I'm not sure what your point is - using telnet is a back-door on to the
device - your average consumer wouldn't touch it but for those of us with
some computer experience it is a perfectly straightforward way of accessing
a computer (which is what the Hifidelio essentially is). I would contend
that they should have enabled the music share out of the box but as they
haven't it is possible to do so by following my instructions. vi is pretty
much the only universal text editor for UNIX machines - there may be other
editors available on this box but I didn't look - although cumbersome to use
it is simple to learn.
