Quad II were 12 watt? Mine must have come from a different factory...

The makers' specification states::
Maximum power 15W.
THD 3H and higher at 12W = 0.1%.

It is generally regarded as a 12W amp, in the same way
as the Radford STA25 (max power 30W) was regarded
as a 25W amp.

The standard DIY starter amp for many years was the Mullard designed 3/3.
