Default what power amp?

Hello, I have a Vincent SA-31 hybrid preamp, that I was using with a now
broken Technics amp, and now I'm looking for a new one. I found that the
Rotel RB-03 has a good price, but since I have a diy Fostex FE206
fullrange
speakers I'm worried about his bright sound. Someone told me that I need a
valve power amp with that speaker, but I don't know a lot about valves...
do
you know some good valve power amp?
the music I listen the most is rock, a valve amp is it good for this
music?
because I read that valve amps have slow bass

thank you

Given that your FE206s have 96 dB Sensitivity and only 30 Watt 'Power
Handling' (90 Watt peaks) you are getting some pretty scary advice! I use
this driver with valves myself and (some current FR issues aside) I would
say it is very well suited to valves, but there is no substitute for *trying
them* and hearing for yourself.

Valves don't suit everybody - if you are looking for 'pistonic bass' (which
ain't gonna happen with the Fostex drivers) with Rock music I would suggest
you look to powerful SS amplification and speakers more suited to it! Valve
amps don't have 'slow bass' (quite the opposite) but they don't usually have
the grip to control the massive cone excusion of relatively big, fat,
flubbery 'air shifters'..!!

At any rate, beware of *Text Only* audio kit evaluations - there's a growing
trend towards it in this group.....
