Default How to repair Grundig MCD36 CD Changer

I have one of these in my MCC Smart and although it worked fine for a
while, it now appears to be sticking. You can put a CD in, and it will
start playing, but part way through will stop, then the display will
show "SURFACE". It will then try to load the next CD, but no sound
comes from the unit, as it appears to have stuck. Opening the front
panel and tapping (OK, bit harder than tapping :-)) the magazine
whilst pressing the eject button seems to dislodge it and you can get
it to eject.

I have had it apart when the magazine got completely stuck, and a bit
of fiddling managed to free it, but it hasn't worked very well since.

I feel that is is a lubrication issue, but I have no idea where to
lubricate or with what. Is it even worth repairing, or do I just junk
the whole Grundig setup and get an in-dash CD player (I don't use
tape)?

So nobody knows then? Or is it because I am new, or have committed
some kind of usenet crime or other? :-)

I have tried Googling for this, but no joy - would appreciate any
thoughts...
