Was a private sale and the seller informed that he'd had problems in the
recent past so I can't really hold it against him. I'm going to try
contacting the original installers and hope they might just charge for
parts
(worth a go).
Cheers,

Take it back to the dealer you got it from and ask them to put it right

Sadly I'm not the original buyer so I guess I'll be charged. It
doesn't
seem
to be a complete part failure as occassionally it will work. Actually
it's
working fine tonight but I don't want to take any risks so am keeping
it
in
valet mode. I originally thought it might be interference (I work at
UK
air
traffic control!) but it's been fine for the last two weeks and it
happens
in different places. Thanks for your input, guess I'll get it looked
over
by
a Clifford installer.
Cheers,
Dan

Also, does anyone know much about Clifford's "lifetime" guarantee?
The
system
was professionally installed in one car and then moved (by the same
qualified people)
into mine so it's not the original car.
Assuming you're the original buyer, this shouldn't be a problem. If
you're not, then you will be charged, as the warranty's
non-transferrable.
The fault sounds like either an RF board failure within the main
unit,
or else a problem with external interference blocking signal. Not
anywhere near Thetford are you?

I had a similar problem with a Concept 50, the processor and remote became
unsynchronised due to a knackered car battery.
Had to have the system rebooted and resynchronised, cost about an hours
labour or £45 in my case from an authorised dealer.
