Hi all,

Currently in the process of planning a new boot setup for my '99 Celica

140
and I need a couple of bits of advice.

I want to use two of the Audiobahn 12" Flame subs, as they're going to

be
mounted with the magnet outside the boxes to show off the speakers a

bit.
Has anyone had any experience with these subs at all? They seem quite
reasonably priced for the performance they claim and their looks £90

for
the
AUD-AW1251T which claims 400watt RMS or £105 for the AUD-AWC12T which

claims
500watt RMS.

I'm particularly interested in the Kenwood
KAC-PS810D because it can be controlled directly from my Kenwood HU...

this
claims "1 x 1600 Watts MAX Power @ 4 OHM. 1 x 1000 Watts RMS @ 1 OHM.

1x
800
Watts RMS @ 2 OHM. 1 x 400 Watts RMS @ 4 OHM". Would that be ample to

run
two of the Audiobahn subs?

Sorry I have no experience of the sub in question, but I can help with

your
impedance question.

If you want two of those subs, and you want to use the 810D, then buy 2

dual
4 ohm coil subs and wire them all in parallel. Th amp will see a 1 ohm

load
and deliver power to best effect - each sub will get 250W.

If it does give 1000rms at 1 ohm and you do run 2 subs at 1 ohm (both subs
being dual 4 as said before) then the subs will share 1000rms between them
thus being nearer a potential 500rms each with around 250rms per coil.

well spotted! 250w per coil = 500w per sub is correct.
