I did already know that, but no need to apologise! I've got it all fitted
and I've come to the conclusion that Pioneer just make wierd equipment!

You may just have said the magic word "pioneer".

ISTR that some Pioneers have such grunty internal Amps, that they
recommend running your own fused line direct to the battery for the main
power feed, rather than using one from the fuse box as normal.
