Default help fitting my 1st radio

works as long as the car isnt moving (jumpy cd and crap fm reception).

just need to fix the unit in slightly more firmly i think and double
check all the connection to sort out the reception and jumpy cd.

in the end i did have to lay new cables from the speakers to the HU
and completely disregard the old wires.


does this Escort have the aerial in the back window heating element? If so
you need to hook up the small red wire to the electric aerial terminal on
the HU so it powers up the aerial amp in the tailgate.

If its still crap then the cable has broken where it passes through the
hinge area. Mine did twice - £37 to Mr Ford each time for a new cable front
to back! then i got fed up and fitted a bosch bee sting in the roof (aka VW)
and FM reception was better than it ever had been.
