Default suggestions on a new integrated amp and a dvd player

howdy and greetings from oz

thinking of getting a new intergrated amp and a dvd player to replace my
exisiting kakamichi ca5 pre amp , pa7 power amp, sony x77es cd player (good
older gear) and cheapy dvd player.

dont listen as much, as loud , smaller house sorta thing.

not necessarily the choice over here like the uk and most of british stuff
gets expensive here ie a new naim nait 5 is $2800 here.

was looking at either a nad c350 or c370 intergrated amp , c370 seems more
"beefy" and perhaps the better long term value. marantz, rotel and say
yamaha or denon dont seem to make anything that comparable???

for a dvd player i want to get something that sounds decent with cd , which
it will prolly spend most of it time playing, dont really watch movies that
much and im not into home theatre. tv is a 68cm (non wise screen) mitsubishi

so the search for a decent dvd player is proving tricky - the harman kardon
cd25 and cd30 seems to get good reviews for audio quality, as does one of
the nad dvd players (751???) and also ive seena couple of good reviws on
onkyo dvd players again not sure which one.

budget is around the $2000 australian mark, so say around 600 pounds.

thanks for your help
