I knew a guy who did. To get the power down from 240v to 12 @ 30amp (this is
the main problem, most adaptors run @ only a few milliamps) was pretty
expensive. The solution used was to get a small car battery and have a £10
trickle charger on it permanently, this kept the battery topped up when not
in use. I could personally think of better ways to setup home hi-fi )
