Default Handsfree Kit Installation

"Jon Smith" wrote in message ...
I have purchased the various parts that make up the sony erricsson handsfree
car kit for my T610 and now need to install them into my VW Golf Mk4.

I'm in the process of fitting a nokia kit to the same car.

I'd advise getting in touch with either SIO communications or
vehiclecommunication.com. Both gave good advice and can supply
Autoleads wiring looms that link the kit to your stereo and sort out
all your power and cable issues.

I notice next to the interior lights on the roof there is what looks like a
vent for a microphone, does anyone know if there is actually a microphone
behind there?

apparently a sensor for climate control :-(

With the aid of the haynes manual I had a go at removing part of the centre
console (the bit around the gearstick). Getting it out was relatively easy

I've had bad experiences in that area but the whole glovebox is
supposed to come out with only two screws. Couple that with removing
the stereo and that might be all you need

I am in two minds whether to have another go doing it myself or paying
someone to do it for me. From my experience at the weekend it seems quite
easy to break the clips which I am very worried about doing.

The wiring kit cost me about £50. Fitting by a pro seems to be about
the saem so why not just pay someone if you can afford it?
