Default Any ideas? BMW mini cooper ICE ideas?

Hi Folks,

I have a BMW mini cooper with orange dash lighting and dials. It has the
stock OEM CD Radio Boost system in it. This is adequate but is really
below par compared to what 'could be'. My (flexibleish) set of
requirements are :-

1/ the headunit to match the dash lighting (orange)
2/ mp3/wma etc capable head unit
3/ DAB digital radio

I will probably also be replacing the speakers - so any suggestions'd be
appreciated. I am really looking for a simple replacement headunit, but
no separate amplification, no sub etc. The bootspace is quite small
enough already!

The two options I have considered so far :-

1/ Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB53 - around £299
- not orange :-( also I think it looks a bit tacky - even if it
was orange I'm not sure it'd match the interior all that well

2/ Alpine CDA-9813R - around £294 (without DAB box)
- able to match the dash well - renowned for quality. The real
poke in the eye with this is just how eye wateringly expensive
it is to get a DAB box - best quote is still over £300! This
makes the whole system a LOT pricey compared to the Blaupunkt.

Anyone know if a 3rd party DAB box can be made to work with the Alpine?
Or how about this idea :

Get the Alpine; then get the VLINK AUX kit for it for fifteen quid; get
a £99 portable (walkman size) DAB radio and plug it in - anyone foresee
any problems with that? I mostly listen to just one station anyway, so
the DAB radio could sit in the glovebox, provided signal strength isn't
going to be a problem...

Any thoughts anyone?

Alex.
