OK, the new Headunit got delivered today.
Opened the box, and discovered no wiring loom, but what looked like
standard ISO sockets on the back.
Both the other cheaper HU's I have bought in the last couple of years
had ISOs on short wiring looms/harnesses (adding to a bigger bunch of
wires behind the dash).
I've fitted a Saab loom - ISO adaptor to the car to get the other HUs
in before, does this mean that I just need to plug the ISO end of the
loom straight into the HU?
AFAIK, yes. However you should have had a ISO plugs to bare ends in the box.
All the Blau's I've had did.
Tim..
Nothing in the box, but it did just plug into the ISO plugs on the
harness anyway.
Bit disappointed that the tuner isn't as good as either the base model
panasonic 113 or the Pro-Plus bargain bucket ones that I had bought
previously. The Panasonic would lock onto traffic reports from Preston,
Leeds, and Hull, when I was in Manchester. The Blaupunkt seems to have
trouble getting a decent lock on the local indy station, and goes into
FM search
Also the pop front stays illuminated when the power is off. The display
blanks, but the buttons stay lit. I know for security you should remove
it, but there are some places (like works carpark) that are "Safe", and
now I'm as worried about battery drain, as much as theft.
