Think you might be right.
Saabs are notorious for daytime running lights too, so while there is a
dash dimmer knob/pot it is probably illuminated on a default lower
setting when the headlights are off too. so even using the illumination
dimmer wire would only reduce rather than power it.

Guess I will have to take the front off all the time.
