that, but i just need the best way to use the motor and make it work
with the door.. and be hidden.

I was thinking of using a cars rear windscreen wiper motor, and
having a limit switch to interpt the power when the door is fully
open or closed, inbetween the motor runs as normal, operating the arm
the through a lever or 2, pushes the door open,

but how to implement this is eluding me slightly.

rather than re-invent the wheel, has anyone done this before? or know
of a web site that goes through how to motorise doors, shelfs etc???

I'd suggest that an electric window motor would be more suited to the task.
If you go to a local scrappy you should be able to get the motor and
mechanism for a very civilised price.
