Default Annoyed With Halfords

Last Sunday (22nd Feb) I bought an Alpine 9807RB CD tuner from Halfords and after they fitted it for me,
I discovered that it didn't have CDTEXT (which I really wanted).
On Wednesday night I inserted a CD into the player and it wouldn't play. It wouldn't even eject the CD!
The following day I went to Halfords to tell them of the problem and the assistant disconnected the unit and
tried to get the (stuck) CD out, but with no luck!

I asked the assistant if I could reject the 9807RB unit and get the next model up (Alpine 9812RB, which
does have CDTEXT and can read MP3 discs) and he said that it wouldn't be a problem. He said to come
back on Saturday (today) when they'll have a fitter to do it. He then re-fitted the 9807RB unit in my car.

I managed to eject the CD from the unit on my way (from work) that evening. Disconnecting and
reconnecting the unit from the power seems to have cured the problems. However I still want to
upgrade to the 9812RB unit!

I went back to Halfords today (Saturday) expecting them to perform the upgrade, but upon explaining
the situation to yet another assistant, he said that they would have to send the unit away for repair,
but I would have to go back (yet again!!) on Monday as they had no fitters in the store! At this news I
was quite annoyed!

I no longer have any faith in Halfords! The only reason I use them in the first place was because they
offered free fitting. Would I be in my rights if I wanted them to take the 9807RB unit out of my car and
asked for a full refund? I still have the original box and packing!

Thanks for any advice
