You would have to show that the unit you bought was not of
satisfactory quality i.e. faulty.

The fact that it failed to operate properly after it was originally
fitted seems to satisfy that criterion.

You must reject the unit, insist on a full refund under the Sale of
Goods Act 1979 section 14 as amended.
