I have built up a collection of Radio 4 and Radio 7 programmes on my PC
which are stored as mp3 files. I wish to listen to these in my car.
Currently I record them onto audio cassette and then play these in the car
but I wish to move to a system which does not use cassette.
Can anyone recommend a solution?
I am looking at spending under £100 and am thinking about using either an
mp3 compatible CD walkman or an mp3 player with either a cassette adapter or
a wireless FM adapter. I would like to power a player from my cigarette
lighter.
A major requirement is that the player 'remembers' where it was in a
recording between car journeys in the same way a cassette does. I do not
want to have to listen / fast forward through a 30 minute programme to find
the point where I left off listening.
TIA
My own rather clumsy solution to this is to use an old laptop, since I
store a lot of RealPlayer stuff, and portable/walkman audio thingies
tend not to have the required decoder, and I can't always be bothered
to rip ra/rm to wav to mp3.
BTW, I've a handy little stereo FM transmitter, bought a while back
off EBAY. Just search for nice+FM+stereo+Transmitter, and it still
appears there from time to time. Does the job from laptop or portable
MP3/CD player -all around the car (or home).
Good Luck !
