Default HELP WITH AMP INTERFERENCE

In article ,
says...
Hi there,

I have an american innovatek head unit which plays mp3s dvds etc etc.

Anyway, the problem i'm having is that I have the RCA's of the head unit
connected to an alpine 3542 amp which is then connected to two infinity
6x9s. When I start the car I can hear a whining noise coming from the 6x9's,
when I rev the engine, the whining gets higher pitched.

My RCA's run down the right side of the car and the power cables down the
left.

I took the stereo out and connected it to a power supply in the boot and
connected 1 metre rca's to the amp and still there was a whining even when
the stereo was off.

Anyone have any ideas what this could be and how I could fix it?

My RCA is supposed to be a high quality RCA, should I buy the best RCA money
can buy? Would this solve the problem though?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Not sure of the exact cure, but it sounds like a ground loop issue.
