Default Car Audio Centre - A warning

Having just had a marathon 1 1/2 hour complaining session with car
audio centre www.caraudiocentre.co.uk I thought I would check some
threads on their service.
I have to add to the other reports of poor service, that this is quite
possibly the worst service I have ever come across.

I asked for advice on swapping my existing Sony CDXM 730 for another
Sony unit I could plug straight in to the existing iso fittings, I was
steered from Sony to Alpine but after asking again if I could swap it
straight over and connect to existing fittings I bought the unit.
Suffice to say that it doesn't just fit.

A call to Car Audio Centre hads left me reeling! As far as they are
concerned, the problem is mine because I didn't ask the right
questions. If I want to spen another £10 sending it back I can have a
refund - so it would cost me £20 for the privelege of doing business
with them. I asked to speak to a director and was told - I love this
"We turn over £40 million a year - our directors are not interested in
spreaking to our customers". This was in a whole heap of thinly veiled
abuse aluding to the fact I was incompetent and wasting everyones
time.

When I spoke to a local company about fitting they were incredibly
knowledgeable and helpfull, as well as negotiating the price for
fitting, as I had already installed the cage, and removed the old
unit. CBS in Cambridge is the helpful company -second time I have
dealt with them and they are as good as ever www.cbscentres.co.uk

Final word on my rant - Car Audio Centre is cheap for a reason, bear
that in mind if you buy from them

I would love to hear of anyone actually getting good service from
them!

Good Luck

Ian
