hi,
i'm the proud owner of an N-reg Peugeot 306 with sketchy front brakes
and flaky paintwork on the boot... but that's another story... more
importantly, i need to get the audio up and running. i've installed an
in-car PC, and the only thing missing is to link it to the stereo. i'm
going to be using the stock unit for now (blaupunkt).
so my question ('s actually) is (are):
1) if i ever manage to pull out the stock blaupunkt, will i find
something which i can treat as an AUX input? if so, this is the road i
will take, but i can't get it out without visiting the dealers so if
someone can tell me what's behind there i'd appreciate it. otherwise...
I doubt their will be aux in very much
2) i will use an FM modulator. in which case, i wonder
(a) what is the sound quality like, really? i've heard mixed reports.
i'm not looking for bench quality audio but will i be dissapointed in
comparison to a benchmark of FM broadcast?
My opinion is its rubbish. I wouldn't go this route
(b) if i go down this route, can i connect into the aerial lead without
taking out the stereo (which i don't want to do unless i have to - see
above. my workshop manual says there's a break in the lead 'to the lower
Dunno
right of the facia'... what??? in any case i've checked everywhere
around there and can't find it, and don't even know if it's there, so if
someone could tell me they've actually seen one down there somewhere it
would be a great help.
so, many thanks for reading, look forward to your answers
ben
Seen as though my other answers haven't helped that much have you thought of
this. Use an amp instead of the stereo? Take the feed direct from the comp
to the amp and then to the speakers. A four channel amp would be suited but
a 2 channel amp would work ok and you can prob pick one up for the same
price as a modulator
