Had the head unit stolen from my BM about a week ago.
Much of the wiring just yanked from the dash.
Another Kenwood head unit was fitted at the weekend, and it appears to
be
working well. Except. The radio can't be manually tuned, and scanning
only
easily finds 2 local stations. Repeat scans find 2 more. Once or twice
it's
found Radio 1, and that's it. No other BBC stns at all.
Could this be the affect of having an unpowered aerial amp?
The Bentley book appears to show the aerial being powered from the
radio,
so
maybe that particular wire has broken behind the dash somewhere.
More than likely, the RB manula will also have the schematic so you can
easily detect which wire powers the RF amp.
I'd like to put a meter on the amp, to see if it's powered or not.
At least, I would if I could find it.
Looked under the back seat, and behind the n/s boot trim.
I've had a suggestion it's behind the 'C' pillar trim.
Trouble is they didn't say which one. :-)
