Default Alpine CDM-9807rb sub out - tone controls?

does anyone know if the bass engine, and bass type, tone controls

on
the CDM-9807RB affect the subwoofer out too? Reason is, I want to

cut
the bass going to my dash speakers, while sending a full bass

signal to
my subwoofer amp.

The sound controls will effect all audio outputs.

Ah - 'tis as I feared..

Check the manual for references to either "Crossover" or "Subwoofer

level
control"

The manual mentions turning the sub out on & off, and adjusting the
level, that's it though, no mention of crossover frequencies.

Idealy, you would want it to have a built in crossover to limit the
frequencies being sent to the front speakers.

Looks like my only option is to use bass blocker capacitors. Will these
still drain the amp's current as if the speakers were being driven with
low frequencies?
Thanks for the reply,
