how would he change the head unit to a standard din type

You'll need an Autoleads FP1900 to convert the fascia to DIN size
(http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_p...partno=FP1900). If the
car's got steering wheel controls, you'll need an interface to connect
them, which will vary depending on the exact model of radio to be
fitted (you'll also need to ensure that the radio has a suitable
input). On that age of vehicle, the power and speaker wiring side of
things should be standard ISO.
