I thought the GTO75.4 was a 75 Watt speaker? Even with channels
doubled that's only what, 150 watt RMS? Unless that 180 Watt is
peak power? I dunno. Go to Halfords and see what sounds good.
Personally, I like the sound of my JBL speakers. Count yourself
lucky that you can fit 6x9s. I have to stick with 4x6's.
The Sony speakers are rated at 180W Peak while the JBL 75.4 Amp is
rated at 104W RMS per channel.
Someone else mentioned that the JBL 963e or Infinity Reference 96xx
Speakers where good and that I should have a listen. I suspect the
Infinity's are expensive though.
Is there much difference between the JBL 963e and Infinity reference
96xx's? Sorry if this is a daft question - I know about home cinema
stuff but not car audio.
Thanks Jon
I have no idea. All I know, is I've been into Halfords and listened to
their speakers, and the higher end higher value speakers are not
palatable to my ears. So while there may be a world of technical
difference, a large part of your decision has to come down to personal
preference I guess at the end of the day. I've been relatively happy
with JBL stuff though so far in terms of sound and price. But Im not a
high end consumer so don't listen to me.
Think I could do with some new speakers, as I didn't realise it was 104
watt RMS! That's nice. I got the same amp, and with 4x6" speakers, Im
considerably under powered.
