Default using mp3 player in a renault megane

hi.

i'm looking at the best way of connecting my w800 (sony ericsson
phone/mp3 player) to my audio unit in my W reg Renault Megane (CD
player without multichanger)

I have an adaptor for my phone which means it outputs straight to a
normal small jack socket. i can also easily convert it to 2 normal RCA
phono sockets.

I would be really grateful if anyone could tell me how to connect it
directly to my audio unit. It does seem to have the connection
available for adding a multichanger so is there any way of using this
socket?

At the moment i have a generic FM modulator but would love to make a
good wired connection instead.

Any ideas?

On a side-note, some manufacturers make 'ipod' compatible head-units, as
there's a few generations (year's worth) of ipods. You're talking about
using a phone (a device that is seen as having a short usage life before you
get a new handset) - so there will be no control from the head-unit with
your handset. However, as you say perhaps you could control from your
handset with just a simple phono cable.

I'll leave someone else to inform you of any methods, as I'm not up-to-date
on that, but some head-units have adapters available for USB mp3 player
compatibility, but they cost quite a few bob. If you want a new head-unit
(which I doubt), there's plenty of USB mp3-compatible ones out there.
