You've already been given the fix - buy a proper amp.
I just did:
http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show/AS%20SP101.JPG
Cracking little bugger for only 60 quid brand new with
warranty!!
Looks like its worth at least half of what you paid for
it, champ!
Sure....
Keith, we've been wanting you to get a SS amp in the
worst way, so you got a SS amp - in the worst way. :-(
So what are you bitching about then?
Didn't get the joke, I see.
Yes I did.
Trust me, mon brave,
I've had/heard more SS amps than you've had hot dinners -
the amp I got filled all my requirements, see the
location:
http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/show/computer.JPG
Looks like a certifiable POS, and your comments say it sounds no better
than it looks.
Looks like?
Looks??
OK, dismissing kit on the strength of magazine reviews and hearsay is one
thing (and not uncommon in this group), but getting all bent out of shape
from a picture on a website is extreme behaviour by anyone's standards...
I wanted a phono stage - I got one. (For LP to HDD at
usable levels.)
See previous comments about certifiable POS.
See your complaint:
"I can easily overlook its noisy Phono Stage"
*Complaint*? I merely passed a comment (it is noisy compared with my valve
phono stage) - are you a Jewish lawyer by any chance?
I wanted a balance control - I got one. (For offset
speaker positioning at close range.)
That's hardly remarkable.
Who said anything about 'remarkable'??
I wanted to put my monitor on it - I have. (Tricky with
the valve amp I had before.... ;-)
That's hardly remarkable.
Who said anything about 'remarkable'??
I wanted it *now* (*then*, IYSWIM)....
That's hardly remarkable.
Who said anything about 'remarkable'??
I got more inputs than I would/will ever need.
That's hardly remarkable.
Who said anything about 'remarkable'??
It's gotta headphone socket.
That's hardly remarkable.
Who said anything about 'remarkable'??
It's got Loudness and Tone controls. (I don't use 'em but
I like to have them with SS kit....)
That's hardly remarkable.
Cyrus II ain't got 'em... :-)
But....
Who said anything about 'remarkable'??
It don't run hot.
That's hardly remarkable.
Who said anything about 'remarkable'??
It's *instant* on and off.
That's hardly remarkable.
Who said anything about 'remarkable'??
It's brand new and doesn't smell or crackle....
See your complaint:
"gutless power delivery"
Look up 'complaint' and 'comment' in an *English* dictionary and see if you
can work out the difference. If it was cause for *complaint* I wouldn't have
bought the amp or kept it....
It cost feck-all.
I recently picked up a receiver with 3 times the power (decidely not
gutless) and got change from $100. Oh, and it even has a balance control.
Sure. I believe you...
It's *sweeet*....
I wouldn't call it that, I'd call it a POS given all of your whining about
its audible faults.
My whining? See below:
I love it.
Is that what you call 'whining'? (Better look that up in the dictionary
also, while your on it....)
Sue me for falling in love with the nicest, smartest, prettiest girl
around,
Sue you? You *are* a Jewish lawyer then! :-)
as opposed to them meanest, stupidist, ugliest...
Fine. I'll go for one who can cook... :-)
It sounds very good (astounding actually) in this
location wiv mi MP3s/DVDs - as Phil North will attest
after he's heard it Thursday evening. (Or he mebbe won't
- you reading this Phil....??)
What about
"gutless power delivery"?
What about it? It is gutless - most sub 2,000 quid SS amps are....
Where have I gone wrong?
See your comments a few posts up.
Comments? Don't you mean *complaints*?? (Do you know *what* you mean?)
Put some more coffee on Arny - you've gone off half-cocked today...!!
;-)
