For me, the curio is the modulation level on BBC World Service, both on DAB
and on DTTV. This is well above that for, e.g. R4. I can appreciate that an
HF AM broadcast might benefit from squashing right up to full mod, but I
can't quite see the point here on DTTV and DAB... Makes me wonder if they
are just supplying DTTV/DAB with the same pre-compressed feed that is sent
for use for HF around the world.
