Yes, I know DAB has chosen to go for channel count rather than
quality. But the radio feeds on Freeview are excellent quality. As
you say, the best tuner in the world is limited by the medium. A
better one has arrived.

There's no magic "analogue" quality to FM in your mind, surely? It's
almost certainly all passed down a digital link already in any case.

"almost" certainly? Every FM transmitter is fed by NICAM.
