The pogrom has started!!

Noticed your getting rid of the Buschhorns! Thought you were pretty sold
on
those LOL. And those Tannoys won't have even caught their breath before
they'll be sat in the departure lounge will they?!
Howard, you've reminded me I still owe you a reply to your email - I'll
catch that up tomorrow, it's been a long and busy day!!
The Buschhorns are *brillant*, but I have 4 pairs of speakers standing about
the place and 2 will have to go. (Asitappens, the Buschhorns are under
Starters Orders already!! ;-)
The Tannoys I bought (only a few days ago) to raid for the drivers, but I
wouldn't be able to do it - it would be an act of vandalism, they are too
good to pull them apart! Besides which, I've already swapped the drivers in
the Jerichos tonight and it has propelled them to undreamed of heights, even
from brand new and I know I'm going to be well satisfied with them now!! (So
the scene has shifted yet again!! ;-)
I have to agree with
Fleetie though - if I were to walk past a few stalls at a car boot and not
one item carried a price I'd be less inclined to make an offer.
Not if you saw summat you *wanted* - you'd say 'I'll give you XYZ for
that' - the seller would either say 'OK, it's yours' or 'no, but I'll take
ZYX' or you would ask 'how much is this?' and the reverse would take place.
(Be honest, if he had a price on an item that took your eye you would
probably make an offer on it anyway!! ;-)
Nobody pays 'list' any more!!
You must
have an idea of what you're prepared to accept
Yep.
- what in your mind is a fair
price.
Yep.
If this isn't intended to be a get rich quick scheme (where you hope
people will offer stupid money because they don't know the real value of
previously owned items - and I'm sure this clearly isn't that sort of
thing)
then why not just say what you think is a fair price?
Because of eBay - everything in the world can be had on eBay and there are
always items that miss the boat and go for rubbish money. Sod's Law says the
day you advertise a certain gadget, there will dozens of them on eBay not
getting a single bid! Been there, seen that!!
I haven't a clue about
most of what's in the list in terms of its original price (or cost to
make),
age of item and rate of depreciation so I wouldn't know whether a
turntable
is worth £50 or £150. If someone offers you £50 when you really want £150
then you're at some point going to have to tell them and rather than wait
for them to keep upping their offer until they hit your price why not just
give people an OIRO figure?
The For Sale page says 'haggle a price', I don't wait for them to 'up their
offer' - I haggle!! (See above!)
(Everybody haggles these days!! :-)
