Hi Keith,
I thought you may care to know my impressions of a completed pair of
needle's:
Second needle completed followed by a test in the workshop with both pairs
driven. The result in the workshop with both pairs operating was startling
compared to just the single needle. A completely different sound has
emerged.
I also performed a basic test of system resonant frequency and measured
125Hz. Glad to note I could not detect any difference in system resonance
between either speaker.
Keen to try a better environment, I moved the pair up to the house and
listened to them properly. Your assumption of improved performance is spot
on - bass has filled out and the pair sound REALLY good. My wife can't
believe that such a tiny speaker can produce such sweet sound.
Looking carefully at the Buschhorn MK2 and noting your comments regarding
the expected and resulting performance, using the FE103 this time, I think
the Buschhorn will indeed supply "all" the speaker I require. My needle's
can then become my workshop speakers.
I feel a visit to my local hardware store for a supply of mdf is imminent!
I'll let you know in due course of my Buschhorn impressions....
Best regards

Enjoy the weather!! :-)
Careful now, Keith! You know that any post that says "my wife noticed
the difference" is invalid :-)
