Default Which tuner?

On the assumption that the bottom is falling out of the tuner
market, I'm after something ranging between fairly cheap and a
bargain (which I'm happy
to wait a bit for). I mostly listen to Radio 3 and 4, with the
occasional retune to a station playing stuff by these 'beat combos'.
The main requirements are...

Fits the form factor of a Cyrus 1 amplifier (215mm wide, up to about
300mm deep), so that I can stack the tuner and amp to maximise shelf
space.

Want FM, other bands are okay but not a requirement.

Decent quality, but doesn't have to be fantastic - it's for
background listening in my playroom.

I'd prefer to have a twiddly tuning knob rather than buttons, but
I'm not too fussed (I'll eschew a tuning knob if it means getting a
bargain).

There's a possibility of hooking it into an aerial in the loft (is a
TV aerial okay?), but it should also be happy with a bit of wire
hanging out the back.

So far, I've seen the early Cyrus tuners that match the style of the
amp (the later Cyrus models are too pricey), and some Teacs: T-H300
and T-H500.
How do these tuners rate for the things like reception and sound
quality? How do they compare against each other? Are there other
makes/models that would be worth considering?

**Listen to one of the latest Denon tuners. They're bloody brilliant.
