Hi guys,
Does anyone know where I could get a mains-powered MP3 player, or if
such a thing even exists?
Although I can do something similar probably using a flash MP3 player
with a docking station, I was curious if anyone knew if anyone makes
such a device?
I just bought my first ever DVD player (yeah, I'm slow on the uptake;-) here
in NZ for NZD69.95 - that's about GBP23.36. It has a couple of slots on the
front that accept most memory cards, does Xvid - and more relevantly, has a
USB 1.1 slot on the front. That will take any USB mass storage device as long
as it doesn't require a hub class driver as well as mass storage driver. From
the local supermarket, probably on special. It's an "S&V228". Only thing on
Google about them I can find is some NZ Usenet comment. Made in China ...
Presumably though you could put in a USB stick and put it on repeat. Or even a
(Fat 32) Ipod, external hard disk, CF card, whatever ... no moving parts best.
Thanks for the suggestion. I had a look in my local supermarket at
lunchtime and they are selling for about 40GBP a mini hi-fi with a USB
port on the front, hopefully that'll do the job. (they didn't have any
DVD players with usb ports)
Cheers
