I just want something to improve the standard speakers, not blow the
windows out. HU is an Alpine CDA-9853R, no amp or sub.

Thats not easy , as they are standard 17cm speakers , but with a very
shallow aperture so most things dont fit.

I have some kenwoods for sale that I took out of my Octy , but they aren't
particularly bassy (though very nice sounding) so they may not be ideal if
you have no plans for a sub.

Asking on www.briskoda.net should find you some suggestions of current
models that work
